A restaurant steeped in history

Like the Musée de l’Homme, which houses it, Café de l’Homme has a rich history. Housed in the Passy wing of the Palais de Chaillot, an emblematic monument built for the 1937 Universal Exhibition, this gourmet restaurant overlooking the Eiffel Tower blends cultural heritage with French art de vivre.

The building has hosted prestigious institutions such as the United Nations and NATO. It was here, in 1948, that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted, giving the place a unique aura.

Since its opening in 2004, Café de l’Homme has evolved while retaining its unique soul. In 2011, a renovation by architects Gilles & Boissier breathed new life into this Paris restaurant and terrace, drawing inspiration from the elegance of the 1930s.

The decor combines natural materials and sophistication: six-meter-high cedar wood walls sit alongside marble tables, while comfortable banquettes create warm and intimate spaces. This ambience, combining plants and minerals, extends over 550 m² and a 300 m² terrace with a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower.
